I’ve received more than a few comments asking how to get a GrandCentral account (the post is a few entries down). I didn’t approve the comments (I didn’t spam them, either), but I did read them.
I’m happy to announce that there is a way, at least for now, to get a GrandCentral account.
While working on another project, I created a Blogger blog (at Blogger.com). After confirming the email address I used to register the Blogger blog, I was taken to the Blogger dashboard — where I was pleasantly surprised to see this:
With GrandCentral, a free service from Google, you can receive phone calls and post voicemails right on your blog. Though GrandCentral is currently in a private beta test, bloggers can skip the wait and get a free account immediately. Sign up now.
(NOTE: The above bolded text was made that way by me.)
Wow, blog by telephone? But I’m getting sidetracked!
It looks as if, at least for now, people with a Blogger blog can get a free GrandCentral account immediately. So head on over to Blogger, create a blog (don’t forget to link to this blog!), and hopefully the invitation will still be there.
Satisfaction not guaranteed… I have no influence with Google…
Thanks for listening,
Tom

I know I’m about 8 months late to the party but this doesn’t work anymore.
[EDIT: Sadly, yes... I wish there was a way to get an invite right now, but don't know of any. I think I might be able to give out a couple -- but with so many people wanting them, have no way of equitably distributing them. -- Tom]
