This post will be short and sweet, so to speak…
This post on Sunbelt Software’s blog talks about the test that I’ve been referring to in the past few blog posts. While their blog is a great resource, it *can* get a bit more technical than the average user needs at times, but since I relied heavily on their blog post during the research phase for this series of posts, I wanted you to be able to refer to that post. And even if their blog does get a bit more technical than you like or need, rest assured that I’ve always had nothing but positive experiences in my dealings with Sunbelt Software. Always. They are a great company with people who, it seems to me, actually want to be working there — and their products are both affordable and good.
As we wind up this series, keep in mind that anti-virus software alone isn’t going to protect your computer. In some upcoming posts we’re going to be talking about a concept called “defense in depth”, which is basically nothing more than having multiple defense mechanisms protecting your computer. I was originally going to blog about a couple of membership sites I’m building that are in the concept stage, but as I continue to blog during this mini blog-a-thon, I think it’s more important to talk about that. I will include the links to those membership sites (there’s not much there right now and you can’t join yet, but more is coming!) in case you are interested, curious, or just want to tell all your friends that I post links to dead sites on my blog…
OK, one final thing: If you don’t have anti-virus software on your computer that you are satisfied with (taking into consideration what you just learned), then why haven’t you downloaded and installed the free version of Avast! anti-virus software? Reading about good quality anti-virus software that doesn’t cost anything for home use isn’t going to protect your computer, so click on that link, download the software, install it, and “get busy”!
Thanks for listening,
Tom
