24 Hour Open Comments For Security Questions

We’ve reached the end of my mini blog-a-thon, and as promised (to some, at least), I’m going to make an offer you may not get every day.

For at least the next 24 hours, you can ask any general security-related question you want and I will do my best to answer it. You may leave your question as a comment to this post or you can make it a “trackback” from your own blog. I’ll answer your questions in a separate blog post early next week, and any “trackback” questions will receive a link back to their blog from mine. And these questions are going to be answered by a certified computer security professional (and one who is preparing for yet another certification!).

Please keep in mind that I am unable to answer specific questions related to a particular situation that you are facing. That’s called “consulting” — and if I act in a role as a consultant, I have to assume certain risks. In order to counter those risks, I have to invoke costly countermeasures. In other words, I can only consult if it is done as a paid consultant. This blog provides information only (I recommend that you read my Legal page), and even that is, at best, extremely general in nature.

The best question you can ask is one about something on this blog. I always accept questions about blog posts — you don’t have to wait for an “open question” to ask those kind of questions — so while you might want to ask questions about other things that have been on your mind, don’t hesitate to ask questions about the topics I’ve blogged about during this mini blog-a-thon.

So go ahead; hit me with your best question and I’ll do my best to answer it. The answer might be a link to another resource (I have lots, and I’m not an expert at everything, so it’s better to talk to somebody who specializes in your situation), an actual answer, or perhaps even an honest “I don’t know”.

A few more promises to keep…

First, those upcoming membership sites:

Simple Security Tips, geared towards the home computer user.

The Business Protector, geared towards the home and small-small business — and designed to help you protect that which you’ve worked hard to build.

There may be a few more promises to keep that I’ve overlooked. It’s late in this part of the world, but I will look over everything and do my best to deliver on my promises “soon”. Feel free to flame me for it in comments to this, or any other, post… LOL! (And you wonder why I moderate comments?)

And finally, one more time, please click on the graphic below and consider making even a small donation to Dr. Mani’s program. Doing so will help ensure that a child will live to love and bless their parents.

Thanks for listening (and reading — and donating!!!),
