James Brausch talks about one of his favorite places on Earth in this blog post. One of mine is the national park that sits on the border between Poland and Slovakia, near the resort town of Zakopane. I love walking on top of the Earth there, and Poles are some of the best people on this planet (and I’m blessed to be married to one). And if you don’t like walking on the mountains, just wait until winter and ski down them. You can’t go wrong visiting there.
Sadly, it’s been a few years since I was last there, and those long shifts sitting in front of a computer have not helped me maintain the physical conditioning I need to truly enjoy those mountains. You don’t have to be a world class athlete to hike in the mountains there, but that extra 20 pounds on my waist need to go before I return.
So “thanks” for the reminder, James. I truly do love my work and look at it a bit differently than some, but this served as a reminder that my job doesn’t love me (besides, I really do want complete control of my time). And we are getting closer.
Thanks for listening,
Tom
P.S. — The certification exam is done; now comes the 4-6 week wait for the results. At least I have some time back…
