In case you didn’t know, this blog had, at one point, over 150 posts. If you’ll put your mouse pointer over the title of this post, you’ll see that it’s post number 57. That’s because I decided to commit blogicide a few months ago and deleted every single post from my “old” blog. Click on that link if you want to know more, but basically I didn’t like the direction my blog was going and decided to start over.
There were a few posts on that old blog that were “good” and I’ve decided to “resurrect” those good posts and put them on this blog. All of them will be put into the new “Blogicide Resurrection” category. Just click on the link to the left to read them all (at least the ones I’ve already posted). I’ll start posting them sometime during the next couple of weeks.
When I committed blogicide, I did a few things to make sure that I could go back and get my old posts. WordPress now allows you to export (and import) your entire blog as an XML document, which you can read in a text editor. This means that re-posting an old post is as simple as copying and pasting it from that XML backup I made. No need to mess with a MySQL database!
Thanks for listening,
Tom
