Ah, good ol’ Roger Haeske and his email subject lines. At least I opened the one he wrote today, which was entitled, “Butt Blubber Burner”.
You gotta check out his website. There’s a link to it in my blogroll!
Actually, I usually open and read Roger’s emails. He’s a great writer and is absolutely passionate about raw foods and living to your absolute potential. It can be a bit intimidating at first, but from personal experience in his membership site’s forum and from personal email exchanges, I can certify that it’s passion — and NOT intimidation. Sure, he thinks that everybody should eat an 80/10/10 raw diet — but that’s only because it works well for him and thousands of others.
In fact, I just went back to it because I didn’t like what I was getting from my old diet.
But back to Butt Burning Blubber (or was it “Butt Blubber Burner”? Heck, it *IS* fun to type it!)… In that email, he talks about animals not being overweight and having fun (instead of sitting in front of the television) because they eat a natural diet. And “having fun” was one of my reasons for returning to 100% raw.
My son loves to play “Hide and Seek” with me on our local playground. He’s now six years old. And his little sister (who turns 3 next month) likes to join us (she has the counting part down pretty well but doesn’t know how to close her eyes, which comes in handy when I need to find my son!). We started playing last summer, when I was fully engaged in 100% raw, and we had a great time.
This spring, as the weather turned from cold and snowy to warm and sunny (when it wasn’t raining, which happens a lot here), we got back out there and played some more. But it wasn’t nearly as easy. I got tired fast, couldn’t run as much, and didn’t have enough time to reach the really good hiding places. So for me, the desire to get outside and have fun with my kids was a motivator in returning to raw.
While I may not be as passionate about raw as Roger, I hope to get there some day. This diet really has worked well for me and I encourage you to look into it and consider it, too. Maybe you’ll never have the energy of a six year old again — but you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain, from trying.
